Dhruva Imaging Private Limited was formed in 2005 by a group of like-minded healthcare marketing professionals with over 30+ years’ experience in the health care industry. The
objective was to capitalize on the experience and contacts gained over the years.
With the technological changes in the field of imaging and the advent of computed radiography (CR) systems, the management team at DIPL was able to foresee the decline in the business
for conventional analogue X-ray films. However, the high cost of CR systems precluded many institutions from setting up their own CR systems since it was proving to be economically unviable. This laid the foundation for DIPL’s services business.
Dhruva worked out a business model to install and run Computed Radiography systems with PACS (Patient Archiving & Communication System) in strategic locations in Bangalore and other locations across Karnataka on a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) concept.
In this direction, DIPL got its first breakthrough by signing an MOU with Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, an autonomous hospital of Govt of Karnataka.
The second memorandum of understanding (MOU) was with Chinmaya Mission Hospital, Bangalore, but on a smaller scale.
The third center was established at NU Hospitals (formerly Bangalore Kidney Foundation), Bangalore.
The fourth center was established at Narayana Super Speciality Hospitals, Bangalore.
Medical Equipment – Sales and Service
In order to increase the portfolio of offerings in the health care segment, Dhruva embarked on the distribution and support of medical equipment. This is another area where the enormous experience and contacts with the medical professionals across South India could be gainfully utilized.
- As the first step in this direction, Dhruva took up the marketing and sales of high end anesthesia workstations, ventilators, bed side monitors, etc. from Draeger Medical GmbH, a leading state-of-the art medical equipment manufacturer. (Draeger) . Dhruva is an authorized distributor for Draeger Medical products in Karnataka. We have made significant progress across non-Government customers in terms of unit sales, thus increasing the user base for Draeger
products in Karnataka. We have an installed base of more than 200+ customers consisting of Anesthesiologists and intensivists. - In 2016, Dhruva entered into a channel partner agreement with M/s. AGFA Healthcare to promote the entire range of radiology equipments including radiological films. We have 180+ customers in our sales IB.
- In 2018, Dhruva signed up a channel partner agreement with M/s. Becton Dickinson for their medical management solutions (infusion and syringe pumps). We have more than 400 pumps in our installed base.
